I'm using the latest SP2 release and everything is ok - bit of a wierd problem with my start menu/quick launch disappearing from time to time but Eve suffers no ill effects for me. LEEEEERRRRRRRRRRROOOOOOOOOYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!

Use Speaker Settings to switch from 2.1 to 5.1 (or whatever your speaker setup is). That resets the speakers without you needing to reboot. I don't know what causes it but I had the same thing with SB Audigy 2's drivers. I changed to kx project...

D'you have a virus scanner running in the background? Use Ad-aware or Spybot to check for unwanted linkware/adware/spyware working in the background. All of those can cause tiny screen freezes. LEEEEERRRRRRRRRRROOOOOOOOOYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!
